Shortly after the attacks in Paris on 13 November 2015, which killed 130 people and injured more than 300, the French government declared a state of emergency for 12 days, which was then extended by Parliament until 26 February. On 22 January, the French President François Hollande announced the government’s intention to extend the state of emergency for three more months after 26 February.2
