With its spectacular backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo has been thrilling audiences since 1950. Since then over 14 million people have seen this military extravaganza, as it performs to a live audience of 220,000 in Edinburgh every August.

2016 marks its 67th production, with a wealth of talent taking to the Esplanade to showcase their musical skills and intricate displays. 1,200 performers from all over the world came together as we commemorated Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th year.

Acts from Australia, Canada, Jordan, Nepal, New Zealand and Norway joined forces to rejoice in the rich history of military music and the relationship between monarchies and their armed forces.

Together with bands from the British Armed Services, cultural groups from across the globe, alongside home grown talent from across the United Kingdom, performers shared this iconic stage as we celebrated ‘Tunes of Glory’.

It’s no wonder The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is regarded as the greatest show on earth!
