Naked Eyes was an 80s synth-pop band formed by Pete Byrne and Rob Fisher. They were one of the first bands to make significant use of the Fairlight CMI sampling synthesizer. "Burning Bridges" is their debut studio album, released on 16 March 1983 by EMI and EMI America Records. The album was released in the United States and Canada as "Naked Eyes" with two tracks demoted to B-sides. Following the release of their second album, the band disbanded. Fisher then formed Climie Fisher with Simon Climie.

In 2012, Cherry Red Records gave "Burning Bridges" its first CD release. It includes b-sides and some remixes as bonus tracks.
